When it comes to video sales of sports-related DVDs, nobody comes close to topping WWE.
According to the latest information from Billboard.Biz, which tracks the video sales of sports DVDs, the top five sports DVDs sold this past week were WWE-related.
“Tombstone: History of the Undertaker” is currently No. 1 on the charts, followed by “The Great American Bash 2005” and “WrestleMania 21”, which has been on the Top 20 charts for 17 straight weeks.
Meanwhile, “Road Warriors: The Life and Death of the Most Dominant Tag Team in Wrestling History” is No. 4 and has been in the Top 20 for 12 weeks running. “ECW One Night Stand” comes in at No. 5 and “Vengeance 2005” is No. 11 on the charts.
Various other releases from the NFL, NBA and Major League Baseball all trail WWE in total sales.
“Greatest Wrestling Stars of the 80s” was also in the top 20 for 11 straight weeks until it was recently replaced.
That chart will soon need to make room for some upcoming WWE DVD releases. “The Self Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior” and “SummerSlam 2005” are both highly-anticipated.
Plus, a DVD looking back on former WWE Champion Bret Hart’s storied career is currently in the works and expected to be a huge seller
