Federer will be 28 in 2 months ,means any slam win from here on is a bonus, its entirely upto him to play or enjoy tennis if he wants, since he has already proved the world he is the GOAT, 1 or 2 people of 1 million think otherwise doesnt mean he is not a GOAT.
In contrast Rafa's career is like at the start line at 23 [just 23], it phenomenal that he achived that many slams before an average tennis player generally wins, so the pressure of bettering Roger's record rest on Rafa's shoulders [ooops on his Knees ] and let us see how he defends his first wimbledon come June 22nd 2009.
This will be a give us an idea what things gonna be on the future. Leave Roger out, I think main competition going to come from people of his age or lesser like Del Potro, Murray, Djokovic etc,. and in 1 to 2 years time there will be more younger and refreshing players march out to challange top seeds like how DP did last summer. What ever be it, I guess Roger is ready to say to Nadal come Wimbledon - "I know what you did last summer " [beating a ill Federer to claim his first wimbledon].
Last Summer everybody doubted whether Roger will make to finals or not, this time it actually applies to Rafa and I hope Rafa make to the final this time around too and doesnt meet and inform player like Soderling on his day before that after all Roger is ready for this summer.
