The Great American Bash 2004 wwe

From the opening, Cruiserweight Champion Rey Mysterio's game plan was to take to the sky -- peppering Chavo with an array of quick, acrobatic attacks. Perfectly on point, Mysterio climbed to the top turnbuckle, poised to launch. But Chavo's recovery caught the champ off-guard, and Guerrero's second-rope drop kick sent Mysterio tumbling to the outside.

What would already have been a brutal fall was compounded when Mysterio caught his leg on the ring apron and then had it buckle beneath him upon impact with the ground. Just like that, Mysterio's greatest advantage was nullified.

Chavo felt the momentum swing as he isolated Mysterio's left leg and knee with a series of high-stress holds. Chavo repeatedly went to variations of a single-leg Boston crab, bringing Mysterio to the brink of tapping. It was clear that the punishment was having the desired effect, as the champ collapsed every time he tried to put weight on that left leg. When Chavo then hit a Gory Bomb, the match could ? maybe should ? have been over.

Somehow, Mysterio mustered a desperation enzuguri and followed it up with a 619. But again Chavo went to the Boston Crab, slicing through Mysterio's mounting energy. Chavo went to the Gory Bomb once again, but this time Mysterio reversed the move into a swift Sunset Flip. Improbably, Mysterio held on for the victory, much to the shock of a highly frustrated Chavo Guerrero.
