New champ is born

Maria Sharapova 17 year old made history as she became the youngest Russian & the 1st Russian to win a Tennis grandslam.
The way she outclassed defending champion Serena Williams was simply great.

It is finally good to see that there is enough competition on ladies circuit too.

Hearty Congrats to Maria Sharapova.

Sorry, but Anastasia Myskina won the French Open less than a month ago, so while Sharapova is the youngest Russian to win a grand slam event, she's not the first. She is the second-youngest ever to win Wimbledon, too (after Martina Hingis).

I know Martina Hingis is the youngest to win a grandslam, thats Y I quoted Sharapova as the youngest Russian & not the youngest in the world to win.
