The Wimbledon final 06 was one such classic encounter, which made audience hold their breath till it got over.
Long are the days where there use to classic rivalries which we tought got over with Sampras- Aggassi or Aggassi- Rafter era.
It was expected from Federar - Roddick , Hewiit- Safin to continue, but sadly none lived to the expectations apart from Federar.

In men's circuit. But there came the French open champion Rafeal Nadal, who apart from winning back to back French open titles beating Federar in the French finals 06 reached Wimbledon final as well.
However Nadal's display in Wimbledon finals wasn’t any great but to rise to the occasion in grass against a player who has won hatrick of titles was phenomenal. One thing was confirmed with the show this rivalry not gonna die soon indeed might bring back the same quality that was given to us before which is missing in the modern day tennis.
One more important thing to be noted is Nadal's dominance over Federar, till the Wimbledon finals he held him 6-1 which even modern day great like Hewitt, Safin or Roddick couldn't have.
Next Grand slam will be interesting if both these players come to finals again, I cant exactly remember when it happened last time, i.e the No.1 No.2 seed which is same as World No.1 No.2 ranking appeared in Grand slam finals consecutively.
If these two players appear in the US open final it will history in the making.
One thing for sure Tennis fans all round the world gonna have a long breath every time if these two continues to fight in the finals, lets hope the hay days of tennis are not over.
